Spring is upon us and many people are at the gyms focusing on their summer bod. Now, we don't want to detract from your pilates training, but we want to make sure you're benefiting your skin just as much in your quest for the perfect ab-set.
In an attempt to make this as accessible as possible, we have compiled a small list of dietary changes that will help you prep your skin for summer.
1.) Fatty Acids
That's right. You read that right. Many people stray away from anything that has the word "fat" in it, but we want to encourage you to consume more fatty acids like omega-3 fatty acids. These keep the skin hydrated, elastic, and strong, something very important if you're going to spend any time out in the sun.
2.) Fresh Produce
It's no secret that consuming higher amounts of fresh produce is good for you all-around. Just don't forget to choose organic, even when it's a little more expensive. Those pesticides can wreak secret-havoc on your skin.
3.) Lower Carbs
This may be our favorite on the list because it kills two metaphorical birds with one stone. Lowering your carb intake can do wonders for your waistline, but it also decreases the release of cortisol in your body. As we know, cortisol is a top-contributor to acne.
With these three changes in your diet, you will be well on your way to helping your skin have the best summer yet!
